Domains

Each site has a list of domains that can be used to reference the site on the internet.

When you initially create a site, and you specify that the initial domain name be “widgetfinger.com”, the site will be set up such that it has domains for both “www.widgetfinger.com” and “widgetfinger.com”. If, on the off chance that you do not wish the “www” domain to be hosted by widgetfinger, just delete that domain after its created.

By default, widgetfinger will provide DNS service for your domains. The DNS servers are:

• a.ns.widgetfinger.com
• b.ns.widgetfinger.com

Automatic URLs

In addition to the domains you specify, there is another domain that is always available. This is to ensure that a site is always available online, and so that you can get running right away, even if your DNS changes have not propagated yet.

The format for this automatic URL is site.account.widgetfinger.com. There if your Site keywords is “mysite”, and your account is “mydesigner”, the permanent URL would be mysite.mydesigner.widgetfinger.com.

Please Note: While this permanent URL is always available, site and account keywords can be edited, so the actual URL could change.
